The Kingdom Racing Sportscar Vintage Racing Association (SVRA) team and Miles of Smiles ministry program started off with a bang in Sebring, Florida on March 4th. KR founder, George Del Canto, and Indycar legend, Davey Hamilton, piloted the number 33 1970 Mustang on the track, with the support of Matt Barton from The Hero Labs. Our MoS team was joined by Paul Scruton of Samaritan’s Touch, who served as the local host and nominated our guests.
Trackside, our team hosted thirteen guests for the day for the first MoS event of 2017. The SVRA was extremely generous by providing tickets and passes for all of our guests. Around our hospitality area Del Canto shared his life-changing testimony with the guests and explained how KR came into existence. Hamilton also told his powerful story of how keeping focused on Christ was instrumental in getting through not only his life-threatening crash in 2001, but also everyday challenges we all face. We are extremely thankful to everyone that made our first event of the season possible!
Kingdom Racing held its first Miles of Smiles event of the season last weekend at the Firestone Grand Prix of St.Petersburg, and we’re off to great start! God opened many doors for us, and we’re extremely thankful for all the wonderful people He placed in our path.
We are grateful to Reverend Irby, from the St.Petersburg Police Department, for graciously nominating four guests for our ministry event. The guests, a mother and her three teenage boys, have undergone many hardships in their lives and sharing God’s love with them at the track was a blessing for our team. The guests enjoyed a fun-filled VIP day at the track as they enjoyed autograph sessions and meet and greets with former IndyCar drivers, NASCAR drivers, Stadium Super Truck drivers, and McLaren crew members...
Last weekend, Kingdom Racing hosted and ministered to eight Miles of Smiles guests at the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix. The guests were nominated through Calvary Community Church’s mentoring program, Calvary Kids of Phoenix, dedicated to enriching the lives of at-risk youth by matching them with Christian adults.
The guests, 6 kids and 2 hosts, started off their eventful day with chapel service by the IndyCar Ministry at the Phoenix International Raceway. Throughout the day, the kids enjoyed a number of exciting personal meet and greet autograph sessions with drivers including: the legendary Mario Andretti; IndyCar Gabby Chaves; Indy Lights Shelby Blackstock; Global RallyCross Augie Lerch; and KR Martin Plowman. Needless to say – there truly were ‘miles of smiles’ going on all around!
Praise God for another wonderful Miles of Smiles event at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach! Last weekend Kingdom Racing hosted six guests, including a father and three sons going through a difficult time in their lives. The guests were treated to a special day at the speedway, as KR team members lifted them up through prayer and uplifting messages about Christ’s love. The guests started off their day at IndyCar Ministrychapel with beautiful worship music played by our friend Matt Sperazza. Afterwards, David Storvick, IndyCar Ministry Chaplain and Director, shared a time of prayer with the father and his three sons.
Following chapel, Sheron Arnold from IndyCar Timing and Scoring took our guests behind scenes and and showed them how it worked – they were fascinated by all the fun race facts!
Praise God for a wonderful start to our Miles of Smiles event this month at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway! Kingdom Racing hosted 8 people at the Speedway yesterday, including a family of 5 that have undergone difficult trials in their lives. They enjoyed a day at the track watching Sage Karampractice for the Indy 500 in the #24 Kingdom-Dreyer & Reinbold Racing car and a behind the scenes tour of the two-seater Indy Racing Experience as well as the Kingdom Racing ministry. Most importantly, Kingdom Racing's founder, George Del Canto, shared his testimony with the guests and KR team leaders uplifted them throughout the day with encouraging messages about God's Word. Please continue to pray for our guests as we continue to host more groups this month.
