Davey Jr. Hamilton
Davey Jr. Hamilton’s life and racing career basically started before he was even born. It started out with his grandpa, Ken Hamilton, whom made a huge impact and name in Sprint Car racing years ago. Then Hamilton’s father, Davey Hamilton, followed his own father’s footsteps and had a pretty successful career in racing as well. So by the time Davey Jr. Hamilton was born it was pretty obvious to him that he was going to be a race car driver. Hamilton was less than a month old when he went to his first IndyCar race. At just 4 years old, he started racing Go Karts and Outlaw Karts, and even won his very first race! Until he was about 11 years old, Hamilton was going through the rankings of Go Karting. Once he turned 12, he started racing Ford Focus Midgets and Dirt 600 Mini Sprints along with Go Karting. When Hamilton turned 15 he started to test Sprint Cars and f2000s. As soon as he turned 16, Hamilton was old enough to race Sprint Cars, and as he was the youngest driver, he was deemed rookie of the year. The following year Hamilton was consistently running top 3 and achieved his first Sprint Car win as the champion runner up. Hamilton also made his first start in the USAC Silver Crown Series. When 18 hit, it was definitely a great year for Hamilton. He won the first race of the year, half of the Sprint Car races throughout the year and clinched the Championship. Hamilton became the first and youngest to win the WSCS Sprint Car Series Championship. He also made his first appearance in the 2015 Little 500, a 500 lap Sprint Car race of pure physical and mental endurance. Only 33 drivers can start and Hamilton was able to qualify his way into the race, held on the entire race, and landed a solid 6th place finish, rookie of the race, as well as youngest driver in the race. Along with that Hamilton tested all year long in Indy Lights cars. He attained over 2,000 miles of seat time and became really familiar with the cars. This 2017 season Hamilton is working hard and hoping to be a driver in the Indy Lights series and will be racing in the King of the Wing Sprint Car series.
